dai3yuen Posted March 30, 2009 at 05:43 AM Report Posted March 30, 2009 at 05:43 AM I'm arriving in HK on the 4th and then am hoping to get to Guangzhou on the 6th and take a train from their to Sanya (to arrive on the 7th). Can anyone recommend a reliable website that can help me book my tickets in advance so I am assured of getting my seats? I was also thinking about booking a 4x Soft Sleeper so I could get the whole room (is it an actual room) to myself and my friend.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! Quote
roddy Posted March 30, 2009 at 06:20 AM Report Posted March 30, 2009 at 06:20 AM There's no online booking, except via agents. You might have a look here. If you're looking to pay for two soft-sleeper tickets per person then I would expect flying to be a more reasonable option - unless you're looking for the romance of the tracks, of course. That train on the boat bit would be fun . . . Quote
flameproof Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:37 AM Report Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:37 AM According to http://www.huochepiao.com the soft sleeper is 417 one way. http://search.huochepiao.com/chaxun/result.asp?txtChuFa=%B9%E3%D6%DD&txtDaoDa=%C8%FD%D1%C7&x=43&y=10# Discounted airfare according to ctrip can be as low as 320 (but I presume tax not included). fanglu Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:42 AM Report Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:42 AM And given that you'd only have to buy two tickets, vs four for the sleeper, wouldn't you be better off just spending the money saved on a hotel room at either end? Unless its all part of an elaborate setup... 'How weird, we've got the room to ourselves, they mustn't be very popular these soft sleepers' Quote
