Fred Fretta Posted April 1, 2009 at 11:56 PM Report Posted April 1, 2009 at 11:56 PM Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody can recommend me a book, glossary, textbook whatsoever dealing with Chinese legal terms. Preferably it should use some English, not just Chinese-Chinese. Any idea? "Business Chinese - An Advanced Reader" from Songren Cui me was suggested as 'useful' already. Thx. Fred Quote

fanglu Posted April 2, 2009 at 05:33 AM Report Posted April 2, 2009 at 05:33 AM Thanks Skylee, this is great! I'd been keeping my own list of common law terms in Chinese. I don't know why I never thought to look for HK resources. Edit: Should probably note that these words may not be appropriate for mainland law. Quote
Don_Horhe Posted April 2, 2009 at 03:20 PM Report Posted April 2, 2009 at 03:20 PM Take a look here. Although it's mostly dictionaries, not textbooks, I think they might be of some use. Quote
Fred Fretta Posted April 28, 2009 at 06:29 AM Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 at 06:29 AM Thanks for all the useful hints. However, I recently discoverd that Songren Cui's Business Chinese is online viewable at googlebooks (http://books.google.de/books?id=t_L_9B4tg5AC&printsec=frontcover&dq=songren+cui&ei=wp72Sc6YFI2GkQSM992bBA#PPP1,M1). Furthermore, there is Business Chinese from Jiaying Howard. It contains a chapter dealing with business law (ch. 11). Also at googlebooks (http://books.google.de/books?id=Z5kgwNUhRAMC&dq=Jiaying+Howard+und+Tsengtseng+Chang,&printsec=frontcover&source=bl&ots=x8johwyOQK&sig=M-eAvTZSr03yZrcEvumyN6hQIwo&hl=de#PPP1,M1). xxx Quote
