Hedos Posted April 4, 2009 at 08:10 PM Report Posted April 4, 2009 at 08:10 PM Hello, I've been learning chinese for almost 2 years now. The resources I have found the most helpful so far were the Pimsleur set of audio lessons and the Rosetta Stone software. Of course, I also use a textbook, but I like the audio-based resources the most as I'm mostly interested in developing oral communication skills. Also, I think learning from an audio source only definitely ease acquiring accuracy when speaking. Now that I'm done with Pimsleur, however, I'm looking for some other audio resource in a style similar to that of Pimsleur. Something which is ideally independent of a textbook, so that I could listen to it in the bus without having to refer to a text. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote

You might want to take a look at the FSI course here: http://http://www.fsi-language-courses.com/Chinese.aspx It can be used with a provided on-line text or without, plus it's free. I tried it after Pimsleur but didn't stick with it long enough to tell if it really "worked" or not. ------------------------------------ Here's an additional download site that works better for me (I'm in China now.) http://http://www.learnchineseez.com/fsi/mandarin/ Edited April 5, 2009 at 09:28 AM by abcdefg additional information Quote
