Beijing Government Scholarship versus CSC

Does anyone know how these two interact? Are they mutually exclusive or would I be able to apply for both? Has anyone gotten the former? Just searching for some basic information. I

Never heard of the Beijing Government Scholarship, what do you know about it?

There seem to be a bunch of applications that are available directly through schools such as BNU and BeiYing with the same CSC app but a different deadline.

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but did you ever find out about the Beijing City Scholarship? I'm currently trying to figure out what it is, too!

the beijing government scholarship covers tuition only. 70% cannot continue to receive it in the second year.

CSC covers tuition and stipend. I think it covers the entire program.

Looking at the information already posted through the forums and a quick English google search on the matter I would say there isn't just one Beijing or city scholarship application. Looks like you need to apply to schools individually. Probably CSC just giving out a certain amount to schools to hand out on their own.

It wouldn't hurt to ask schools about financial support, but from what other members have posted about dealing with BLCU it normally doesn't work out. I would say applying to the CSC directly or going through the Confucius Institute is your best bet.

It may also be beneficial for those that don't meet the CSC requirements, but meet a school's requirements for their own scholarship.
