Alla Pugachova - Million (Scarlet) Roses

Алла Пугачёва - Миллион аллых роз

Hi,

I wonder if this Russian song was translated and sung in Chinese. I grew up with it, as it was popular with all my female friends and relatives. Last night I heard it in Japanese (a few nice variants) and one Korean on youtube. I couldn't find it in Chinese but there were few links in Russian with Russian and Chinese lyrics displayed. It seems it used to be very popular in China in the 80's.

(If you want to listen in Japanese, search for 百万本のバラ)

I'd like to find the Chinese version if it exists.

Russian lyrics and Chinese translation

Youtube link

The Japanese and Korean versions were quite emotional but can't be compared with the original, enjoy the Russian version in the above link!

EDIT:

All highly recommended

Korean:

Russian by Korean:

it's in Russian by a Korean singer (nice voice)

Japanese:

Japanese version - 百万本のバラ male singer, very sensual

Version 2 - male female with lyrics

Female singer, Japanese lyrics displayed Seems to be popular but I like the male Japanese version.

对我来说,他唱得很简单,可是翻译很不错啊!谢谢你。:)

It seems some Russian songs in Chinese translations are really popular in China. Our laoshi mentioned and demonstrated a few songs in class. The translations are really good and the singing is sensual... The Russian songs are notoriously sad but you can't deny the feelings they convey.

Wow!

Incidentally I came across a Chinese version of Катюша (Katyusha) by a Chinese singer I "discovered" today - 赵鹏.

Don't know if you've already heard it before, but since you started a thread on Russian music in Chinese, I thought I might as well share some more in praise of the mystic Russian soul ( )

I've heard the song in other languages before but had no idea it would sound so good in Chinese. There's also a more lively 男女声 Chinese version of 喀秋莎 @ music.sina.com.

:clap :clap

It is great indeed, I found it even better than the original Russian version:

Katyusha - Катюша

I like this more: another Russian version (female voice)

The 2nd link is not working.

Катюша (Katyúsha or 喀秋莎) is a pet name for Yekaterína -> Kátya-> Katyúsha. This song is about love but ironically, this song was so popular during WW2, so that rocket launchers were also called Katyusha's

Not sure if I can praise the Russian soul, as:

It is often used when Russians, especially women, don't wish to explain some problem, just another excuse - this the sensitive whimsical Russian soul!

It is often an excuse to do something extraordinary or simply wrong - what Russian doesn't like a fast ride! Well, speeding has consequences.

The broad Russian soul - it's when you become extravagant - throwing money around, showing how generous you are just to impress someone. If you read Dostoevsky's "Idiot", you'll know what I mean.

Just an example of a "New Russian" (a nouveau riche) - an exaggerated joke, of course :):

One New Russian goes to a jeweler's store and asks for different diamond rings for each finger on his both hands. He gets them and puts them on with the stones facing inwards. Then the amazed shop assistant tells him the price. The New Russian says "no prob" and pays the price in cash. Then the shop assistant asks - may I ask a question, sir? - Sure. You paid such a huge price for ten diamond rings and you put all the stones inside you palm, not outside as usual, why is that?

- You see, I am going to a party with my buddies tonight. I will come late on purpose. They will wait for me. Just fancy, I will go in quickly, open my hands and shout like this - 'AAAH'...

Interesting that there is interest to Russian songs in China. You know, 2009 is the year of the Russian language in China!

中国人唱俄语歌

2010 is going to be the year of the Chinese language in Russia. :)

Atitarev, thanks for taking the time to provide more insight on the name Katyusha and mystic & controversial Russian soul  Yes, I read Dostoevsky and other Russian classics (not in Russian though) and I think I know what you mean. Good joke on the nouvelle riche, too.

Thank you for the Russian mp3s! Haven't had the chance to enjoy Russian music since I don't know when..... and I just love the sound of the balalaika =*

Thanks nonetheless for the links to youtube, but I'm afraid that will have to wait a while, can't open them from here. Perhaps you could look to see if they have the same versions of the songs on youku?

I found another link for the same 男女声 Chinese version of Katyusha I love it! Hope you like it too.

Oh, thanks for the invitation to join Russian learners on Chinese-forums! How nice! I can't make any promises, but I can give it a try.

No commitments required :)

I found youku very slow from here. You can find songs by the names I posted but I don't guarantee they will be the same. Here's one for Chinese version of Moscow Nights. Chinese with lyrics. I can't open it properly like many others on youku.

This version you posted is great.

BTW, I edited the first post for Japanese and Korean versions of the song starting this thread - Million Scarlet roses. Pity if you can't open youtube.
