BNU summer courses

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! :)

I´m planning to study at BNU for 4 weeks in July this year. I´ve heard a lot about BLCU´s short-term programs, but there doesn´t seem to be much on BNU, so if anybody has some experience with BNU´s summer classes, I would be really delighted to have your feedback!

Thank you! :)

I am also thinking of attending BNU this summer and would appreciate feedback on their Chinese classes. I have studied many years of Chinese and would most likely be an advanced student. Does anyone know what books they use, something about the teaching quality, class size etc. Thank you!

I thought the summer courses were just for complete beginners? It would be worth getting in touch with BNU (or waiting for some else to reply here!) before making any plans.

Small amount of info here.

Hi!

I´ve already checked out BNU´s site about a thousand times. So, this is why it would be nice to hear the experience of somebody who has been there.

BTW, there is written "Placement Test" in the timetable, so I don´t really think that it would be only for beginners. Especially if you can go there with a HSK scholarship- I suppose then you should know some Chinese....

I called the schools BNU and also CNU (From U.S.) last night and spoke with someone there (in Chinese) who knew the programs. The person at CNU (Which is Capital Normal University and had been recommended to me) said that my Chinese woudl probably be too advanced for their summer program and suggested BLCU. The person at BNU said pretty much the same thing -he said that they usually only have one or two advanced students for the summer program and therefore they can not make a special class for them and that the general level for their summer students would be intermediate and below. I think both CNU and BNU have advanced classes in the Fall and Spring but summer is different. So now I am back to thinking about BLCU becuase they have more students and the chances of getting a more advanced class seem greater. Any comments would be appreciated.

Momolito:

Thanks for the info. I think (and hope) with my HSK 3 and approx. lower-intermediate level will have enough to study at BNU.

hello,

I am going to BNU this week, so hopefully i will be able to tell you what the studying conditions are. I am going there via the HSK scholarship program, and after reading all your posts, I do hope that there will be people of my level, not ony beginners.

if anyone is going there for the summer short term chinese program, let me know! I will be there from July 6th to July 31st.
