Chinese-forums.com on Facebook and Twitter

In a rare fit of Web 2.0ness, I spent the afternoon mucking around with Facebook and Twitter, just in case anyone is interested.

Facebook Fan Page. Very basic, I've tried to keep it as simple as possible. It should have updates on new forums topics, but I'm not sure it's working 100% yet.

Twitter - a new tweet for every new topic, or at least there should be.

Add / follow us and show your love for the forums. G'on, y'know you want to.

Five Facebook fans and two twitter followers already! Keep 'em coming, and if you want post in here to announce your arrival.

Excellent, a massive nine fans already.

The application on there which is meant to be updating our 'wall' with the latest new topics seems to be pretty slow / no good. Unfortunately it also seems to be the best one. However I think if you click the 'subscribe' link in the RSS-connect box on the left side you might be able to get that on your own pages. Or something.

became a fan of the facebook page. you should try to do something more structured with the twitter account like new vocabulary every day or something.

No plans for anything like that. RandomChineseSMS.com is on Twitter though.

17 Facebook fans!

I am a very light user of Facebook - if there's anything easy I should be doing with that fan page let me know.

I'm also a very light user of Facebook. I've joined the fan page, but ... now what? Am I meant to do something?

Damned if I know. You might be able to get notifications of new topics appearing on your page or something. I guess your contacts can see that you're a fan.

Any Facebook experts out there?

Put a picture on it, where it has a question mark now. Makes it look better.

Adrianlondon: for what I know, it's mostly so that people you know can see you're a fan of it. From what I can tell, those fan pages are more to show on your own profile (I'm a fan of A, B and C and therefore I am an X kind of person) than that you actually do something on the fan page.

Agreed.

You can set up a discussion board, but I feel that it would be duplication considering that the Chinese-Forums FB page should act as a way to display your interests, as well as advertise Chinese-Forums to a wider audience to bring potential members here.

Cheers!

Up to 30 fans on Facebook now, not bad at all. 16 followers on Twitter, although a few of those are spam and their accounts have already been killed. Never mind . . .

No plans to have discussion on the Facebook page - more than enough fun keeping track of this one, thanks.

Twitter users can also follow Random Chinese SMS if they want to make me slightly happier.

So you also do the Random Chinese SMS...?? cool, been following that for a while now...

Were you also celebrating Charles Darwin's 200th birthday by putting a monkey in that picture on facebook fanpage? It was however a surprise not to see a guy in blue zhongshanzhuang standing there. :-)

Don't know if you're still counting, roddy, but you now have 55 mighty Facebook fans. I just joined myself.

Not a huge number - must remember to add some links to the header or footer, and perhaps outgoing emails - but I'm not that worried about promoting it. Hope it's useful anyway.

You have 97 fans now. I see you have Xmark Display Stands as a fan. He's a fan of my fanpage too. Popular guy.

How do I add Chinese-forums.com to my Facebook?

Click the link at the top. Then click Become a Fan on facebook.
