As much as I dislike Disney, the ownership by it and by Pearson of China-based English-language schools may be good news for qualified non-Caucasian English-language teachers. These publicly traded companies may be less likely to engage in illegal discrimination (or at least will be more subject to public pressure if they are caught doing so).

For example, I received an email two weeks ago announcing positions for "foreign-appearing" English instructors at a small Beijing school. Disney's lawyers would never be stupid enough to allow an email like that to ever be sent out.
