Lu Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:09 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:09 PM Does anyone know how to translate 探锤? I'm translating to Dutch, but am happy with an English translation too. Dictionaries didn't help, Google images didn't bring anything, and my Chinese friend could only tell me it's a kind of hammer used in geology. It's from this great story by A-cheng. Thanks for any help!
roddy Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:15 PM Report Share Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:15 PM Rock hammer, geology hammer, I think. You're on your own for the Dutch.
Lu Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:23 PM Author Report Share Posted April 22, 2009 at 03:23 PM Thanks! I didn't think geologist's hammer was an actual word, turns out it is. It seemed too obvious, I guess. ('Geologenhamer' appears to be a good Dutch translation.)
