It's ok when applying this word to oneself eg.u can say "她轻轻玩弄自己的衣角" she toys with her wvon. but ofter it's negative when applying this movment to others espacially famele. It equal to philander or cheating others . So they say u 玩弄某人的感情 means u r really a bad guy 戏弄：make fun of some one. almost the same meaning of 捉弄. the difference is we consider the one who 捉弄 others having no bad purpose Quote
