Flying Pigeon Posted April 25, 2009 at 10:57 AM Report Posted April 25, 2009 at 10:57 AM Hi, I remember reading about this movie here. I think Roddy had watched it and wrote about it. But I can't find the post. I did a search but found posts about condom commercials and how to find beautiful foreign women in Beijing; interesting topics, but not quite what I'm after. Thanks in advance for directing me to that thread. Dean Quote
roddy Posted April 25, 2009 at 11:26 AM Report Posted April 25, 2009 at 11:26 AM Doesn't ring any bells with me I'm afraid. I do remember (I think) posting about a documentary called 老头 or something. Nothing about barbers though. Quote

PhilipLean Posted August 31, 2009 at 03:45 AM Report Posted August 31, 2009 at 03:45 AM I know this thread is old, but I have found the film what you were looking for. The old barber. I used 剃头匠to search on Tudou. There appear to be four parts to the film. The film starts with a scene of him shaving a person. In part 4 the old man starts of talking about being born in Peking as it was called then, and he wanted to be a kung fu actor in Chinese Opera but his parents forbade it so he became a barber. The film has Chinese and English subtitles and because he speaks slowly it is very easy to pick the words. Works great in SMPlayer, so useful for learning. Flying Pigeon Posted August 18, 2010 at 03:44 PM Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 at 03:44 PM Unfortunately, the tudou links don't work anymore. I just finished watching it here. This is one of my favorite Chinese films. Quote
