troysmith Posted April 29, 2009 at 06:42 PM Report Posted April 29, 2009 at 06:42 PM Not sure if this is already a thread but if it isn't, I'd like to start it! I'm moving to Beijing soon from the US, just wondering if anyone knows if I can buy the Iron Gym in China. Otherwise, I'll just buy it here and lug it there, but I'd prefer not to have to take up valuable real estate in my luggage. http://www.amazon.com/Iron-Total-Upper-Body-Workout/dp/B001ND04U4/ref=pd_sbs_sg_3 Please advise, thanks! HarryCallahan Posted April 30, 2009 at 02:16 PM Report Posted April 30, 2009 at 02:16 PM Cool device, I've never seen it before. I do push-ups at home to keep in some shape, but they mostly do chest. I've seen the pictures of how this thing attaches to your door, I'd be worried about damaging my landlords place. http://www.vuthy.com/blog/2009/04/14/the-iron-gym-a-girls-review/ Quote
troysmith Posted April 30, 2009 at 08:05 PM Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 at 08:05 PM Taobao looks like the Chinese EBay. Is there a Chinese equivalent to Amazon.com? Because THAT would be amazing. I'm going to miss Amazon when I move this summer... *sniff* Quote
HarryCallahan Posted May 1, 2009 at 04:39 AM Report Posted May 1, 2009 at 04:39 AM Close enough for ya? http://www.amazon.cn/ I've never tried to use it, but it does look like a much scaled down version of the American offering. Consider the markets, tourist even like Silk St and Yashow, the upper floors have sports stall. This thing looks popular and compact so would be a good chance they'd stock it. Try and get a price near to what taobao sells it at. Your first price for this kind of equipment shouldn't be as ridiculous as that for the usual tourist purchases, for which you normally expect to pay at least 1/3 of. Quote
roddy Posted May 1, 2009 at 10:13 AM Report Posted May 1, 2009 at 10:13 AM Amazon.cn, formerly known as Joyo, is great - see here for more discussion. Had quick look and didn't spot any of these though. Quote
