Urgent Travel Advice Please!!

I need to get from Qingdao to Ningbo for an interview at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo. Can anyone tell me what the travel connections are like between Shanghai and Ningbo? I've looked at the flights between Qingdao and Ningbo and they are prohibitively expensive, so I was thinking train it to Shanghai and then get a train to Ningbo. Can anynone tell me how long this is likely to take/cost? (the connection between SH and NB that is).

for train times / prices. Four hours, give or take, about 100 for hard seat. Note a lot of them start from Shanghai South. An express bus might also be an option?

to get from qingdao to shanghai,u can take the train K293 starts at 14:17 or D75 starts at 10:30.the former takes 20 hours and the latter takes 10 hours.to get from shanghai to ningbo,that's a piece of cake coz 11 trains r available a day.

Maybe a flight from Qingdao to Shanghai and then the train from Shanghai to Ningbo?

if you have to wait a long time to get on a train from Shanghai to Ningbo, you can take the bus. most of the bus station run this route with about 20-30mins a bus. and train have to go along 上海——嘉兴——杭州——绍兴——宁波。 but by bus i think it will go the 杭州湾大桥，that would be more convenient than by train, plus great view on that way——the bridge has the length about 36km.
