Ian_Lee Posted July 28, 2004 at 08:38 PM Report Posted July 28, 2004 at 08:38 PM In Asia, I prefer the Japan Times (http://www.japantimes.com/). I have seen it publishing articles which were highly critical of the atrocities committed during WWII. Taipei Times is a superb newspaper (IMHO far better than its counterpart China Daily) (http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/) as long as you don't mind its strong pro-independence stance. The Straits Times of Singapore (http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/home) is another impartial newspaper (but anyhow ignore its domesitc news section). It maintains a contingent of reporters in Hong Kong and is the only foreign English newspaper that continuously produced analytical articles related to HK since SARS, Article 23 legislation, 7/1 Demonstration,.......etc. Quote
