has anybody recently converted their visa successfully in qingdao, ie, in the past week or so? i'm wondering if there will be problems as october gets closer....

Here is a further update. I am still considering what to do. I checked on Japan Travel centr, TST, Hong Kong and can still pick up a 3 month single entry L visa in HK($700HKD apprx) there by the looks of it...no notices contrary on their website...but maybe F visa Solution 2 offered below is better?

Thank you for your email.

Solution1:You can apply for L visa to F visa for 6 months without leave the China. At present , the price is so expensive.

Solution2:I can send F invitation letter to you , you get it to go to China embassy in HK to apply for F visa for one month. then you come back to China. We can help you F visa extend ,six months or 12 months.

The price is 2800rmb+the government fee =2960rmb ,this is 6 month F visa fee. This is good choice.
