must-know 'classic' songs in china, taiwan.

With reference to the must-know expressions, i believe there's also a song that most chinese must hear and understand. In taiwan, 梅花 is super famous for its patriotism. In china, 東方紅 was sung every time in the conference and dinner during the cultural revolution in 60s-70s, which is less sung but still famous. Any other suggestions, especially the political songs once got popular in mainland china?
