anyone at Beida for the fall? looking for flatmates

Hi,

I'll be at Beida for the fall semester doing research and taking language classes. I want to get an apartment somewhere in the general university area and am looking for a flatmate or two. Anyone going to be there this fall?

The program affiliated with my university in the U.S. will give me some help looking for an apartment, but I think it'd be nice to find some possible flatmates before getting to Beijing.

I would prefer to live with students who do not intend to stay out late drinking every night as I'll need to do some studying during the week, but going out on weekends and occasionally during the week is fine.

I think I may do my language classes through BNU so I'm hoping to live in that area

I decided to only stay for a semester which made me rethink the hassle of finding a short term lease. I'm now going to stay in a flat the BNU apartments for foreign students. It looks pretty nice from the pictures.

Late reply, but I'm also studying at Beida for the fall semester and looking to share a flat close to the university, maybe at 华清嘉园 or the PKU global village. I've found quite a few but most of them are 2-3 bedrooms so sharing would be ideal. I'm a Swedish guy and will be studying the short-term programme in mandarin. If interested in sharing, just send me a msg

I will be going to Beidi for a one semester chinese lang class this Fall. I know very little about the school and campus. Usually how much do you have to pay for a month to share a flat? How close is this flat to the school?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Huaqing Jiayuan is about 2km away from the east gate along chengfu lu, PKU global village pretty much across the road from the east gate. The standard of Huaqing Jiayuan is pretty good and very close to all wudaokou amenities, so it's popular choice among westerners and koreans. A one bed, one-livingroom there is usually 3000 to 3500 kuai and a two bed maybe 4000 to 5000 kuai. If you're renting a decent, western-quality room in a larger apartment (at say Huaqing Jiayuan or Furun Jiayuan), it should cost around 1800-2500 per month. I went through an agent last time but had to pay to pay 3 weeks' commission, so this time I'm looking to go directly through the landlord.

Hope this helps!

Hey,

Since Beida doesn't offer accomodation to foreign students. I decided to go with Tsinghua instead... Got my dormitory room secured.
