Hi,

when I was writing some macros with Visual Basic for Excel, I ran into a Unicode problem. It wouldn't recognise third tones (maybe also first tones, I forget) or any ü with tone marks.

What I was trying to do was to compare a list of vocabulary items to be imported with what was already in the database. If there was anything outside the 256-ASCII range it wouldn't work and tell me that even two completely identical strings would be different.... :conf

Any suggestions welcome...
