Blueice Posted May 23, 2009 at 11:49 AM Report Posted May 23, 2009 at 11:49 AM Hi guys I will study Chinese in BLCU this summer for 1 month. And I will probability stay at the dorm during my time in Beijing. Now I want to ask people who have living at the campus dorm about curfew. I have read at BLCU homepage (http://www.blcu.edu.cn/lzb/lx_back/english/image/handbook/Services.htm ) about the curfew, and I really don’t like it because I want try out the night life too:roll:. But I have read on this forum about the curfew aren’t for international student, is it true? Can you sneak in after the close? Quote
Xiwang Posted May 23, 2009 at 02:21 PM Report Posted May 23, 2009 at 02:21 PM This Los Angeles Times writer doesn't seem to think that the curfew was such a big deal: http://xml.latimes.com/news/science/environment/la-tr-chinese6jan06,0,4924846,full.story Also, the last item on your BLCU link is not entirely accurate. I've never had to sign in, nor have I ever seen anyone to sign in to enter the school. At least during the daytime and during this post-Olympic period, it's an open campus. Quote
Lu Posted May 26, 2009 at 05:38 PM Report Posted May 26, 2009 at 05:38 PM I was there in 2002-2003, so info might be outdated, but when I was living in a BLCU dorm it was like this: there was a curfew, but if you came home later you could knock on the door, and the shifu would wake up, grumble at you for being late, and open the door so you could get in. So, not really an issue. Quote
New Members blcuer Posted June 3, 2009 at 08:03 AM New Members Report Posted June 3, 2009 at 08:03 AM if you want to free to try out the night life. my suggestion is to rent a room outside the BLCU. Quote
