onebir Posted May 25, 2009 at 12:34 AM Report Posted May 25, 2009 at 12:34 AM I'd been vaguely aware that editions of (mainly) US/UK origin books, published in English, available in China. But didn't pay much attention because the only way I could think of to find them was to go to bookstores, & the range there seemed very limited. But recently I found an easy(ish) way to find out what's available. Just go to amazon.cn and search for part of the title plus "英文版" or "影印版". An alternative is to go to advanced search (高级搜索) and search for "英文版" or "影印版" in the title, & select the category (类别) of interest. There's a fair bit there on maths, stats & computing; I'm not sure about the other areas. Prices seem to be a bit higher than for Chinese language books, typically RMB 30-70, but this is sometimes for textbooks that go for USD100+ outside China. Quote
roddy Posted May 25, 2009 at 03:00 AM Report Posted May 25, 2009 at 03:00 AM There's a lot of linguistics and language learning stuff out there at knockdown prices as well - not sure they're the latest editions, etc, but at 30 yuan a book . . . Quote
