carlo Posted June 3, 2009 at 04:46 AM Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 at 04:46 AM This is probably a basic question but I'm in a bit of a hurry and couldn't find the answer in the archives.... I just bought a 2nd hand Alphasmart (a portable writing device -- google Alphasmart Neo to find out more) and I'm using to get some major writing done when outside commuting etc. Problem is, the device doesn't support Chinese at all. The only workaround would be to type entire documents using romanisation, load them to my PC and then convert them using some software. If my wubi was really good, I would probably write using wubi - the conversion would be faster and more accurate. But that's not me, so I'm wondering if there is an easy quick way of converting a text that looks like "shuang1fang1 tong2yi4 mu4qian2 zai4 zhong1guo2de suo3you3 xiang4mu4 jiang1 bei4 zheng3he2jin4 ni3jian4de xin1gong1si1" etc into properly spaced hanzi text? This is the reverse of the "segment hanzi + convert into pinyin" problem.
roddy Posted June 3, 2009 at 05:16 AM Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 at 05:16 AM You need a Pinyin IME where you can copy and paste into the input panel. Sogou can't do that, don't think any of the major ones can. Maybe an online Pinyin IME? You'd need to miss out the tone numbers, most likely, and then race through it selecting the correct characters.
carlo Posted June 18, 2009 at 02:49 AM Author Report Share Posted June 18, 2009 at 02:49 AM Thanks Roddy. The best solution I found so far is using Wenlin and hitting slash all the way to the end. An entry on an old friend's blog mentions a software for Chinese input called 齐, but I couldn't find any links to this anywhere.... I'll send him an email. http://aradosh.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!4B8704B442B4C2FC!1109.entry?dir=Next&ph=4B8704B442B4C2FC!1113
gato Posted June 18, 2009 at 09:02 AM Report Share Posted June 18, 2009 at 09:02 AM Is the 齐 he's talking about?
