Hi there,

My name's Roosie, and I'm new to these forums. I'm from Vancouver and I'm trying to pick up a little bit of Chinese so I can impress the pants off of my friends.

My friend recently commented on my mad Mandarin skillz, and I wanted to let him know that I appreciate his encouragement. In English, I would say "Thanks, Marcus, you're too kind!"

Can anyone tell me how I'd say that in Mandarin? So far I've got "Marcus 謝謝!" But basically I'm wondering what sort of expression in Chinese means "you're too kind".

You can say:

你过奖了! (nǐ guòjiǎng le)

Or simply:

哪里哪里! (nǎli nǎli)

And if you're in the mood, you can even combine the two:

哪里哪里, 你过奖了!
