MiniMoin Posted June 5, 2009 at 07:00 PM Report Posted June 5, 2009 at 07:00 PM Hi all I've been using this name for a several years, I found out on the web a possible meaning of it, can anyone confirm if this is correct ManLung = Farmer or if the another meaning for it I'll be very thankful Quote
skylee Posted June 6, 2009 at 01:28 AM Report Posted June 6, 2009 at 01:28 AM It is not possible to tell what ManLung means because (a) ManLung is not a standard romanisation of the standard Chinese Language ("Lung" does not exist in the standard romanisation scheme); (B) there are lots of homophones in Chinese (i.e. words with the same sound can mean very different things). However, if you think that ManLung means Farmer, then perhaps it is based on Cantonese romanisation. In commonly-seen Cantonese romanisation, farmer 農民 = Lung Man. ManLung could be 民農. Quote
