ganyuehan Posted June 6, 2009 at 04:22 PM Report Posted June 6, 2009 at 04:22 PM I saw this in a bookstore, and part of me wanted to buy it while another part felt it was a gimmick for people with no self-discipline. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about this? http://www.berlitzbooks.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3462 Quote
coszcatl Posted June 7, 2009 at 08:36 AM Report Posted June 7, 2009 at 08:36 AM I bought the Japanese version of this product a few months ago and I would say it is a good concept...gimmicky, yes, but educational also. It is not words to music though, as in songs, it is music with people talking over the top of it. The benefit I found with it is that you can quickly learn the basic words of the target language, so I would say that it is worth it if you are a complete beginner and want to learn the basics fast. HOWEVER, for the Chinese version (which I have not used) there are mixed reviews on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Earworms-Chinese-Essential-Phrases-Anchored/dp/0841600457/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244363549&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rapid-Chinese-Essential-Phrases-Anchored/dp/1905443056/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244363640&sr=8-1 Quote
