Is my translation of a photo description correct?

I tried to translate an old newspaper-photo description into Chinese:

(photo of boy and girl lined up outside a movie theater)

FOR MANY CHILDREN, THE SCHOOL STRIKE HAS AFFORDED A CHANCE TO GO TO THE MOVIES

...like scores of others, John and Mary Swanson lined up to see Empire Strikes Back

老師罷工給了很多小孩機會去看電影,

像很多人,John和 Mary Swanson在排隊等候看星際大戰第五集:帝國大反擊

Is it correct? Would you make change certain things or just translate the whole thing in a completely different way? Would appreciate any thoughts.

老師罷工讓很多小孩有機會去看電影

像很多其他人(or 小孩)一樣,約翰和瑪麗.斯旺遜在排隊等候看帝國大反擊/帝國反擊戰。

In HK, the film is known as 帝國反擊戰. I am not sure if it is called 帝國大反擊 elsewhere. The original has not mentioned anything about 星際大戰第五集 so I think it is not necessary. And the mixing of Chinese and English in a sentence is always considered a bad habit (though we do it all the time).

The movie is called 帝國大反擊 in Taiwan

Thanks for the tips and the more accurate translation.:)
