atariboy Posted June 24, 2009 at 08:03 PM Report Posted June 24, 2009 at 08:03 PM Hi, I rather like this chinese proverb "To regret the past is to forfeit the future" Can anyone tell me if the correct translation is 要后悔过去是放弃未来 Thanks Quote
muyongshi Posted June 25, 2009 at 02:07 AM Report Posted June 25, 2009 at 02:07 AM Drop the 要. And to make it more correct you would need to say 后悔过去的事,就是放弃未来。 And even the second part would sound better by saying 自己的未来. Honestly though, this is not the Chinese proverb. Not sure what it would be but it's gonna sound a lot better than this. I'm not familiar with this particular one but you can bet your balls it won't sound like this. I wonder though, now that i think about it if it might be this "抛弃今天的人,不会有明天" Quote
