These characters are on the side of one of the fireworks I bought. I'm trying to translate them just for the fun of it. So far, I've used radical/stroke lookup and figured out this:

- flower; blossoms

- fire, flame; burn; anger, rage

- change, transform, alter; rebel

But that last character has me stumped. I'm guessing the radical is on the left, but I can't find the character. Help? :conf

This is from a Black Cat firework, made in Hong Kong, in case that matters (different characters used there, maybe?).

Thanks for your help.

Great!

So, together they say "flower fire change face"

I understand that knowing what the characters say is not the same as knowing what they mean when they're all put together.

Is there a better way to interpret them?

Interesting!

That explains the mask that came along with it (on top beneath the celophane wrap). It looks very similar to that picture on the top right of the Wiki page.

Cool!

I just put the first two characters (花火) into the MDBG website, and the translation is "hanabi". That's interesting to me because "Hanabi" is the name of a series of Japanese slot machines with a fireworks theme.

Again: cool!

OK! Well, when I put all four characters together on the MDBG website it translates as "Changing Faces of Love"
