alexboat Posted July 9, 2009 at 03:01 AM Report Posted July 9, 2009 at 03:01 AM Hi -- I'm new here. Can someone please translate this for me: 青蛇 I think it means some kind of snake, right? Thank you so much!! Quote
skylee Posted July 10, 2009 at 02:45 PM Report Posted July 10, 2009 at 02:45 PM Literally it means green snake. Is it a character in a story? The name of a novel? A tattoo? What is the context? The first thing that came to my mind - 青蛇 is a character of the famous story of the white snake. She is the maid / companion / confidant of the main character Madame White Snake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_the_White_Snake A HK writer has re-interpreted the old story, making the green snake the main character. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Snake Quote
