zhoulifei Posted July 9, 2009 at 05:45 PM Report Posted July 9, 2009 at 05:45 PM I'm a 20 year old student from Australia with two years of Mandarin under my belt. I'm going to be studying in Hangzhou for six months next year, however I'm interested staying and possibly working in Beijing for the months December to February. With no completed university degree or teaching certificates I'm wondering what chances there are for me to find temporary work in Beijing and student-priced accommodation for those months. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciate. Quote
katyjo Posted July 11, 2009 at 04:36 PM Report Posted July 11, 2009 at 04:36 PM I know of a family in China. They are professionals. They don't get paid very much. My sister in law was a tutor when she was at university. Back then she only go paid 2 dollars an hour. Chinese people in China really like caucasion foreigners and those who studied English will want to practice English with you. I think it would be very easy to be an English tutor. Quote
mpallard Posted July 11, 2009 at 04:46 PM Report Posted July 11, 2009 at 04:46 PM Not only is teaching a complete waste of time I never imagined someone would do it for $2 an hour. Quote
