zhen_shuai Posted July 12, 2009 at 08:24 AM Report Posted July 12, 2009 at 08:24 AM Awesome Chinese artist that I just discovered the other day. His website is here: http://www.momao.com/ Check out the 山水 series in the gallery. Bad ass. He takes famous 国画 and repaints them in the style of early 20th century artists like Van Gogh, Cezzane and Monet. He also has some humorous political works, like a McDonald's happy meal in the style of a 商朝 bronze and 明朝 Coca Cola bottles. Last year he was in the news for having a painting that was supposed to be put on display in Beijing get rejected in customs: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121928312315258939.html Anybody here seen his stuff in person? zhen_shuai Posted July 12, 2009 at 07:43 PM Author Report Posted July 12, 2009 at 07:43 PM I liked that one, too. Supposedly he painted it on pages of 《毛主席语录》. Quote
