misubi Posted July 14, 2009 at 06:20 AM Report Posted July 14, 2009 at 06:20 AM Hi All, I'm on a Student Visa from a school in Qingdao until October here in Chengdu. I want to stay in China for a year and maybe start my own business here. The most obvious way is to teach english but I simply don't want to sign a full time english teaching contract where I'm binded to them. What's my best option? I was thinking maybe I could sign up for a private language chinese school for the sole purpose of extending my student visa only, but I am not sure if I can do this since it would be from a different school than my present visa. I also wouldn't mind flat out paying for a visa, but I haven't seen any of those kind of ads in the western magazines here. Thanks. Elliott Quote
muyongshi Posted July 15, 2009 at 02:06 AM Report Posted July 15, 2009 at 02:06 AM Nope! Private schools won't be able to get you a visa, visa extension, or anything of the sort. Quote

muyongshi Posted August 7, 2009 at 01:39 AM Report Posted August 7, 2009 at 01:39 AM How similar is your situation? Cause the answer about getting a visa through a private school stands. YOU CAN'T! Quote
