reallych1932 Posted July 16, 2009 at 12:18 PM Report Posted July 16, 2009 at 12:18 PM Hi I bought this Tintin (丁丁)comic book recently. it is in simplified characters(简体字). I found it quite easy to read with an intermediate level of Mandarin (the pictures help). If your stuck you can check the English Version. It's quite compact (see the poorly taken pic for scale) 62 pages long. good condition (nearly new) looking to swap it for other Chinese comic books/ novels (N.B. you must be in the UK/EU -to save on postage) Something like the first Harry Potter (in Chinese simplified chars) would be great but will consider any offers (swaps not cash) See the pics for more details PICShttp://yfrog.com/5jcovermupjx Tintin on Wikipediahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Sea_Sharks PM me Quote
Meng Lelan Posted July 16, 2009 at 02:28 PM Report Posted July 16, 2009 at 02:28 PM Sent you a PM. Amazing yours are in color. I read nearly the whole Tintin in French when I was a teen, now I want to read them in Chinese but here in the US it's impossible finding fun stuff to read in Chinese like Tintin comics. Last time I was in China I bought Dilbert comic books in Chinese, compact and in black and white. Quote
Meng Lelan Posted July 21, 2009 at 11:16 PM Report Posted July 21, 2009 at 11:16 PM oooh...China Sprout now has seven or eight of the Tintin comics in simplified Chinese now... Quote
anthony_barker Posted July 29, 2009 at 02:24 PM Report Posted July 29, 2009 at 02:24 PM I have most of them in Traditional from Taiwan. I even got the one in Africa which is out of print/banned in English. I just wish there was something like Chinese Perapera-kun for books.... Quote
Meng Lelan Posted July 29, 2009 at 02:59 PM Report Posted July 29, 2009 at 02:59 PM And I thought I was the only Tintin fan left in this world...cool. Is the banned one the one about Tintin in Congo or something like that? I just got an entire set in simplified Chinese and got started yesterday, my first return to Tintin in 20 years. I'd rather read in trad characters but I'm in the US so I had to get what I could get here. Quote
anthony_barker Posted July 29, 2009 at 04:59 PM Report Posted July 29, 2009 at 04:59 PM (edited) I'm a huge fan... I think you have it 丁丁在刚果 http://www.chinasprout.com/shop/BSE103 I don't think were are alone - many people work through them with tutors. I'm in Toronto. Also you could probably buy the traditional ones from bookstores in HK or TW Shipping is normally cheaper from HK but watchout sometimes translations are different eg http://www.hkbookcity.com/showbook2.php?serial_no=77357 Shipping to 美國, 英國, 加拿大或其他(空郵: 5至10天):HK$ 28.88 Edited July 29, 2009 at 05:21 PM by anthony_barker Quote
Meng Lelan Posted July 29, 2009 at 05:36 PM Report Posted July 29, 2009 at 05:36 PM I have the simplified version through ChinaSprout, that will suffice for now. But is it my imagination or what, the font used for dialogues seems more gray than black. Quote
