Short-term stay in Shenzhen

Hi there,

At the moment I am in Xiamen in the summer holidays, and waiting for my course to begin at Xiamen University on August 28th. My girlfriend is currently working in Shenzhen and given such a good time opportunity, we'd both like to go see each other, and thus I was planning to go see her in Shenzhen for the time until my course starts.

It's not possible for her to come to Xiamen so we were planning on me coming to Shenzhen. Since my budget is fairly limited I cannot stay in a hotel, even if just for a week or so it's far too expensive. My girlfriend has suggested we rent out an apartment for one month and that there are particular apartments for this purpose.

However, we simply cannot find prices for one month below about Y3000, which is too high for me. We both can't find alternatives; does anyone here know of an alternative thing we can do, or does anyone know of any cheaper apartments in Shenzhen? My maximum budget would be about Y2000 at a push.

For information, she is living in a work dormitory so I can't stay there. I have my residence permit now.

You could always try couch surfing for a week or so

There seem to be quite a number of "couches" in Shenzhen. You could probably hop from one to next for an entire month.

I agree, it seems a very good strategy - I'm really thankful to to you to know about this site, it seems to make lots of opportunities.
