niubi Posted August 18, 2004 at 11:35 PM Report Posted August 18, 2004 at 11:35 PM i wouldn't consider chunqiu to be new considering that they've been around for about 4 years. in comparison to tangchao, i guess you could call them new. Quote
Claw Posted August 18, 2004 at 11:35 PM Report Posted August 18, 2004 at 11:35 PM Why are they named after dynasties? Quote
niubi Posted August 19, 2004 at 04:39 AM Report Posted August 19, 2004 at 04:39 AM i am fairly certain that this question has been addressed and answered in both chinese and english language materials. i can't answer it off the top of my head other than saying that in the case of tang dynasty, the founders of the band so named it because they felt it was the height of chinese civilization, particularly with respect to arts of all kinds. as an aside, kaiser is a former student of chinese history - so that is another clue. Lu Posted August 23, 2004 at 11:13 AM Report Posted August 23, 2004 at 11:13 AM 子曰 is ok, 唐朝 is better I think, but 崔建 is still the best. And 鲍家街43号 is also really really good, wish I had a cd of them. I love Chinese rock, for the music, I wish I were in Beijing. Quote
