Inscription on bottom of bowl

Recommended Posts

An elderly friend of mine bought a bowl in China and would like to know what the inscription on the bottom reads. Can anyone help? I'm trying to work it out in Wenlin but can't quite get it right with the stroke input and these characters (with the exception of the first) are foreign to me. I apologize in advance for the grainy photo. Thanks!

The mark reads 康熙年製, Kangxi Nian Zhi, that is, made in the reign of Emperor Kangxi. These marks are almost always spurious.

Thanks so much! I'll pass this info along to my friend - and yes, I figured it was pretty much spurious but wanted to give him an answer =) Thanks again.
