xiaolongbao Posted July 22, 2009 at 08:36 PM Report Posted July 22, 2009 at 08:36 PM An elderly friend of mine bought a bowl in China and would like to know what the inscription on the bottom reads. Can anyone help? I'm trying to work it out in Wenlin but can't quite get it right with the stroke input and these characters (with the exception of the first) are foreign to me. I apologize in advance for the grainy photo. Thanks! Quote
889 Posted July 23, 2009 at 12:26 AM Report Posted July 23, 2009 at 12:26 AM The mark reads 康熙年製, Kangxi Nian Zhi, that is, made in the reign of Emperor Kangxi. These marks are almost always spurious. Quote
