maike Posted July 30, 2009 at 03:15 PM Report Posted July 30, 2009 at 03:15 PM Hey guys, I'm curious if any of you have experience with TBJ's (thebeijinger.com) book, Ich Bin Ein Beijinger. I can't seem to access TBJ.com right now to give a direct link but here's a link to a short blurb about the book on Sinatimes.com. I was thinking about picking it up when I hit Beijing if it's a good book. Quote
gougou Posted July 30, 2009 at 04:40 PM Report Posted July 30, 2009 at 04:40 PM The book you're linking too is not the one you're talking about. IIRC, "Ich Bin Ein Beijinger" is a collection of editorials written by Kaiser Kuo, so you could just check out his stuff in The Beijinger (which the magazine is called now due to some copyright issues; TBJ is now run by another company) and pick up the book if you liked what you saw in the magazine. roddy Posted July 31, 2009 at 02:48 AM Report Posted July 31, 2009 at 02:48 AM Yeah, this is the one you're looking for. It's a collection of Kaiser's back page columns from the That's Beijing / The Beijinger magazines. Should be some good reading in it - I've probably read a lot of the content already, but it's the kind of thing I might pick up as a present for someone. There don't seem to be as many of the columns online as there used to be - likely as they're now in a paid-for book - but you can get a flavour here. Quote
