Hero Doug Posted August 10, 2009 at 01:50 PM Report Posted August 10, 2009 at 01:50 PM I compiled a bunch of HSK flashcards for jMemorize. Their based on the HSK database provided by roddy. Their grouped by level, then again by the amount of cards per file. Since jMemorize just piles all the cards on the "todo" pile I figured it would be best if their broken up so they could be done piecemeal. There are a number of entries that don't have an English translation. For these cards I entered <:NO TRANSLATION:>. You can easily search for this term to update the cards, remove them, or fill in the missing translation. I put both the Chinese characters and the pinyin on one side, and the English translation on the other side. There pinyin is displayed first and the character is displayed four lines below. The idea is you can quickly test your knowledge of pronunciation then quickly write out the character afterwards. Placing an object (a small book) over the area where the character appears or resizing the window so you have to scroll to see the character will ensure you won't see it until you've finished writing it. Two notes about importing the cards. 1) jMemorize currently doesn't automatically scan for duplicates (although I read it's on the 'todo' list). So it's best to import from one group only (say 50 card files as an example) less you want to end up with a lot of duplicates. 2) The cards are encoded in UTF-8. When you import them you'll be presented with an encoding selection screen. Scroll down a bit and select UTF-8. I hope they help someone out. HSK1.zip HSK2.zip HSK3.zip HSK4.zip Quote
