RSVP needed for BLCU after acceptance?

Hey everyone,

I was accepted to BLCU in December for a one year study starting September 2009. I had some problems with my application via mail, so through e-mail I was told by the school I will receive visa application/acceptance by April. Everything came in fine and I found the directions to register between August 24th and August 31st on campus.

I was wondering if I need to confirm my attendance before I arrive in Beijing?

The last e-mail I received also said to respond in April when I received the documents (which I never did). So, from what I gathered most arrangements are done on arrival (including class and dorm selection). I did send an e-mail but did not know how long a response will take if offices are closed for the break.

I would appreciate any input and I have already found these forums very helpful.

Hey Brian,

I don't think you need to RSVP. I, for one, have never ever ever been able to get them to respond to an email. So count your blessings that you actually got a response.

As for housing and class selection, you're right, it's all handled when we arrive.

See you there! I'm also coming in from the states (NY/Boston).

I spoke to someone on facebook regarding housing and he has booked to be in dorm 17. I've also gone ahead to book a room at the conference centre. However, whether the rooms are still available when we get there is a different matter. Maybe is best to get there and see what is available and take it :)

Thanks for the responses. I just have these fears of showing up (after quitting work and school in the states) and being turned away.
