JW202 needed after getting the visa?

Hi,

Today I got my 6 months visa, but the embassy didn't give me back the JW202...

In the admission notice for the BLCU it says I need it to register at the university...I don't remember if last year I used it when I registered, so my question is I really need the form?

thanks

Hi Josu - my original visa application form was returned to me (a JW201 in my case, not sure what the difference is). And my admissions notice from Tsinghua mentions it among the list of materials I need to bring to registration.

But if you have a valid visa, it seems logical to infer that you obtained this by submitting a valid visa application form, so there should be no need to produce this document again. I think you'll be ok without it (but this is my first time registering as a student in China, so this is just my best guess).

Hi Josu,

Logical, yes, but not correct. I went to BLCU in 2006 and they warned me not only to have that form, but to have the ORIGINAL of the form, not a copy. You're supposed to make a copy and give that to the Consulate where you apply for the visa and keep the original for BLCU. And as I recall, they did require it during registration.

This being China, however, I am SURE there must be some way around it. Maybe Roddy knows or someone else on the Forums who has been around a while.

Good luck! :-)

Yeah, I ran into this last year. The consulate took my copy as well. However, BLCU will have a copy on file, so you should be okay.

thanks for the answers.

right now I'm waiting the answer of the embassy...and well, at least I have the visa, so if there is any problem on registering in the BLCU I can go to the school I studied last year...get the visa was the important thing
