How long is a 10 RMB bill? (Someone decided to use one where a ruler would be more appropriate.)

Posted

According to my ruler (and my 10 RMB bill, which was pretty new), it's about 14.05 centimeters.

This makes me sound like a dork but it is 14cm exactly.

I just happened to bring my ruler into work this morning and have a couple tens in my pocket by coincidence. This is not normal that I would know these things.

Out of three bills in my pocket, 2 are 14 and I would need a micrometer to tell any different, and 1 is 13.95 and that makes me nervous

So my guess is it is 14 cm with a +- .05 variance

And may I ask why you want to know?
He explains right in his post...

Ahh... I misread that. I thought he was asking for someone to use a ruler for an exact measurement. That's what happens when I haven't had my coffee yet.

NO! How Long is Chinese!

[sorry! I hope no one is offended at that "joke", I just couldn't help myself and I've wanted to use that line all my life is this has been my only opportunity.]

Hao Long (郝龙) is actually a communist from the 40s, a trade union journalist from the 80s, a medical doctor, and some kid from Suixian, Henan (presumably the guy in the photo).
