Cannot open my Hotmail account - Anyone else?

For the last 3-4 days I haven't been able to open my Hotmail account and this is obviously a big deal. I have no other problems concerning the Internet, other than Facebook of course. I'm in Shenyang, Liaoning.

When I try to log into Hotmail it seems information simply stops being passed bath and forth once I get past the Log-in section. I can see its that lots of information is going back and forth, then a wall is hit. Did I do something else and have a block put on my IP address by the great Firewall in the sky?

Really confused and annoyed. Any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have some meetings in Hong Kong soon I need send emails about and Im completely locked out!

People still USE hotmail???????

Ok, I have an old account that I am surprised I remembered the password to but that's beside the point and I was able to log in just fine, like 1 minute ago.

No problems here in Beijing. You might want to get a Gmail account and then import your Hotmail emails and contacts to that - should be able to do so even if you can't access Hotmail. Gmail > Settings > Accounts and Imports.

Well I found a solution, not sure if this was what it was all along. I assumed it had to do with the internet, so I uninstalled the AVG Microsoft soul controlling anti-virus protection. Then installed the newest version. Tricky perps made me go find their newest program, released just a few days ago, and install it if I wanted to use their other product, Hotmail.

I would use Google but I HATE the design. I already have a google account, but used for a few days and it just is bizarre. I started using Hotmail in 98 or 99.

So problem averted, thank you all for your help and concern.

You folks are nice around here. I'll have to start posting more instead of just looking everyday!!!
