skylee Posted August 16, 2009 at 11:17 AM Report Posted August 16, 2009 at 11:17 AM This film is very successful on the mainland, doing great in the box office and getting very positive reviews (like those on douban). I saw it (Cantonese version) today and I like it a lot. If you are in China and interested you can probably see it in your local cinemas now. If you prefer the Cantonese version it is shown in some cinemas in Shanghai and Guangzhou (according to information on the internet). Many people find the "philosophy" of the story sad - miracles are rare and some people are slow and are not meant to be successful, no matter how hard they try. Many people agree that the film is meant for grown-ups, though children obviously enjoy it. I find the film very enjoyable. If I must compare it to "Up" then "Up" is better. But McDull is good enough. These older threads are relevant - McMug and McDull 麥嘜 & 麥兜 春田花花中華博物館 (take a look at the TV programmes to see if you like it) Quote
wushijiao Posted August 16, 2009 at 02:11 PM Report Posted August 16, 2009 at 02:11 PM I've seen the first movie many times. It is really hilarious, I think. Is this in the theaters now in HK? Quote
