How to set up a representative company in Shanghai

Hi all - I am new to this so please bare with me.

My boss has asked me “how does it work setting up a representative company in Shanghai”

The specific question relates to the agents a fellow employee has spoken to who require a notarised copy of our registration documents. We need to find someone who a) knows what this means and B) can help us get it done

Can anyone shed any light on this? I wouldn't know where to start!

It'd be easier if you could find out what they want in Chinese, but I'd guess they're looking for something like a business license, certificate of incorporation, etc. Will depend where you actually are.
