PhilipLean Posted August 23, 2009 at 06:16 AM Report Posted August 23, 2009 at 06:16 AM When I use Powerword lite and select/highlight some text it usually provides a translation, but sometimes it only translates one character. I checked/looked at the options, they do not appear to have changed. Usually I end up closing the program and restarting it to get it to work the way I want. Am I missing some basic step ? I downloaded the full Powerword version but I could never get to give me a popup translation. I was prepared to buy it if it worked significantly better than the lite version. So far it hasn't. Any suggestions ? Quote
PhilipLean Posted August 23, 2009 at 11:47 AM Author Report Posted August 23, 2009 at 11:47 AM I should explain more. Sometimes Powerword lite will display a translation, sometimes it will not do that at all, sometimes it will only show a translation for one character, sometimes it will display another screen giving different functions. Tonight it i working fine, at the moment. Has this happened to other people ? Is there a cure ? Quote
zhwj Posted August 24, 2009 at 01:41 PM Report Posted August 24, 2009 at 01:41 PM I hope someone can assist you, because maybe it'll assist me. I installed the new version of Powerword when I upgraded my machine, and it was working fine with the default dictionaries that came with the time-limited trial version. Now that I've paid for it and installed the full version, it starts up with 0 dictionaries loaded, which means I have to manually add the dictionaries I want to use every time I restart my machine or the program remains absolutely useless. I don't use the mouse-over tools, so I can't say whether that's related. But it does seem like there's something strange going on with how the latest version stores and retrieves preferences. Quote
