Petit_Scarabe Posted September 1, 2009 at 01:26 PM Report Posted September 1, 2009 at 01:26 PM Hi all, I've come accross many lists of frequent chinese characters. All of them are sorted by frequency, or in some rare cases by stroke numbers. So I was wondering if there was any list of, say, the 2000 most frequent chinese characters organized by tones; the idea being that it might be easier to learn for "tone-challenged" people like myself ... Thanks Quote
Scoobyqueen Posted September 1, 2009 at 06:39 PM Report Posted September 1, 2009 at 06:39 PM easier to learn for "tone-challenged" people Do you mean you find it challenging to hear what tones a word uses or do you mean you forget which tones a certain word has. If the latter, I have found it helfpul to write out the pinyin or focus on pinyin. It becomes a bit like Spanish that uses accents to denote stress and therefore becomes part of the word. That has helped me anyway. Quote
