dajaphonics Posted September 2, 2009 at 02:53 AM Report Posted September 2, 2009 at 02:53 AM Hello, I just arrived in Beijing two days ago. I will be studying at Beijing Normal University and my girlfriend will be teaching at a University. Her school is providing housing but right now they took us directly to a hotel. Do I need to do anything for the registration of temporary residence if I'm at a hotel? They took our passports and filled out a document at the reception desk. If anyone has any suggestions I'd like to hear them. Thanks. Quote
imron Posted September 2, 2009 at 03:25 AM Report Posted September 2, 2009 at 03:25 AM No. If you're at a hotel, the hotel takes care of all of that. Quote
dajaphonics Posted September 2, 2009 at 09:45 PM Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 at 09:45 PM When I go to register at BNU, will I have to get a copy of the Temporary Residence document? It has it on the website. How important is it that I bring every document that they request we have for registration? Quote
XiaoBin Posted September 2, 2009 at 10:14 PM Report Posted September 2, 2009 at 10:14 PM Not sure how it works for BNU, but for BLCU it's like this. They basically want to know where you live, if this is off campus. I think that if you name the hotel, it will be enough for registration. You will have to check this tho. For when you move to your apt: I heard from some ppl that they check your temp residence form when you want to leave china. When I left china they didn't ask me tho. I would advice to get this document, just in case. You will have to ask your landlord to come with you to the police station. He has to show them a copy of the rent contract. The fees are regularly paid by the landlord. Quote
