Juuuu Posted September 2, 2009 at 11:12 PM Report Posted September 2, 2009 at 11:12 PM After I have posted a new thread on this forum, may I request to be notified via my registered email once my thread has been answered? If yes, what is the step to apply for that? Tks / juuu Quote
muyongshi Posted September 3, 2009 at 12:26 AM Report Posted September 3, 2009 at 12:26 AM The function is called subscribed threads and it's under your control panel/user options. Quote
jbradfor Posted September 3, 2009 at 03:33 PM Report Posted September 3, 2009 at 03:33 PM Related (probably simple) question: how do I make the default to NOT be notified? For every reply the default for me is "Instant email notification"; I always change that to "Do not subscribe". How can I make the default "Do not subscribe"? I've looked for a way to sent it and can't find one.... Quote
muyongshi Posted September 3, 2009 at 11:33 PM Report Posted September 3, 2009 at 11:33 PM Same place I mentioned above. Quote
jbradfor Posted September 4, 2009 at 12:17 PM Report Posted September 4, 2009 at 12:17 PM DOH! It's under "Quick Links". I was looking for it in my profile. Quote
taylor04 Posted December 20, 2009 at 12:02 AM Report Posted December 20, 2009 at 12:02 AM For some reason I haven't gotten any emails for the past few days even though topics have had new posts. Was it turned off? Is it my email? It's still turned on the settings Quote
animal world Posted December 20, 2009 at 12:34 AM Report Posted December 20, 2009 at 12:34 AM Doh, i didn't know either it was right there under Quick Links! Still, what i would like to see is Opt Out as the default and you need to Opt In for those threads you want to subscribe to. Most threads i don't want to subscribe to and whenever i visit here, i go to New Posts which catches every post since my last visit. Quote
roddy Posted December 20, 2009 at 02:08 PM Report Posted December 20, 2009 at 02:08 PM Taylor04 (and others) it does look like at least some emails going out to hotmail are getting bounced back as spam. I'll see what I can do at this end, but in the meantime what might help is adding admin@chinese-forums.com to a list of safe senders - this should be available from your hotmail account under Options > Safe and blocked senders > Safe Senders. Would be useful to know if a) that fixes things and B) if anyone with a hotmail account is still getting emails ok. Quote
taylor04 Posted December 20, 2009 at 02:52 PM Report Posted December 20, 2009 at 02:52 PM I just woke up this morning and the problem was solved. Whatever you did worked! I'll add that email to the safe list now as well. Thanks a lot Quote
imron Posted December 20, 2009 at 10:54 PM Report Posted December 20, 2009 at 10:54 PM Still, what i would like to see is Opt Out as the default You can configure this somewhere in your settings - not sure exactly where as I did it a long time ago, but this is the way I have it set up. Quote
roddy Posted December 21, 2009 at 01:23 AM Report Posted December 21, 2009 at 01:23 AM Should be fixed now, yes. Quote
