tortue Posted September 5, 2009 at 03:37 PM Report Posted September 5, 2009 at 03:37 PM I will have a short term stay in Beijing later this year for language training, like 2-3 months. Ideally I'd like to find a shared apartment for that period. I don't know if this is realistic, but I had a look at thebeijinger.com classifieds, and it looks like there is a chance for that plan to work out, people being willing to accept flatmates for a short period of time I don't know if it makes sense to ask for individual experiences of the like, but if anyone likes to share his story, please go on! More generally, could someone advise in which quarters of the city you think this is likely to be found. I mean I'm sure there are a couple of areas which are preferred by students or young people in general living in shared apartments. Last question, do you think it is possible to find a shared apartment with locals? Thank you all, Chris Quote
XiaoBin Posted September 6, 2009 at 07:58 PM Report Posted September 6, 2009 at 07:58 PM I'm also apt hunting, and not sure yet if i'm going to take a 1BR apt or a shared one. Both has pros and cons. It really depends on the ppl you're sharing your apt with. You won't spend alot of time in your apt. You're mostly out. Shared apt with locals is possible. I'm sure if you get an agent he knows a few. Also the Beijinger has some. You can also try to get a room in with a chinese family. The often give you good prices. They will ask you to teach their kids english a couple hrs a week tho. Quote
