hdejarne Posted September 6, 2009 at 12:00 PM Report Posted September 6, 2009 at 12:00 PM I've got a question about using the 3G internet cards offered by China Mobile, Unicom, and Telecom on a US machine. I've got a Dell laptop that I purchased in the US running windows vista. I've had no problem running Chinese software such as sogou, ZDT, etc. However, yesterday I tried to buy the China Telecom 3G internet card for my laptop. When I tried to install the software instead of Mandarin characters I got garbage. Anyone have this problem before? Is there an easy fix, like downloading the right font? Has anyone had any experience with the 3G internet over here in China? Quote
imron Posted September 6, 2009 at 12:06 PM Report Posted September 6, 2009 at 12:06 PM Sounds like a unicode problem. In the regional and language settings of control panel, you need to set the default code page for non-unicode applications to Chinese (or use AppLocale, however that takes a bit more work to run under Vista).
