I say '洗手間‘ xi2 shou3 jian1 because I find it easier to pronounce! In England, it's a 'toilet' or a 'loo', if you want to be extra polite, maybe you are in a meeting or something, you might say 'excuse me for a minute'... 'Bathroom' would be a definite Americanism in Europe. Quote
